Re-coat steps

For timber steps that are in fairly good condition, ie very few indentations, sun damage, scratches, cupping, warping, no de-lamination. In this case re-coat can have the steps looking like new, making the steps last for many more years before sanding back to raw timber then re finishing.

For a re-coat, the top layer of the existing coat will be sanded to remove any blemishes and allow the new product to bond in order to prevent the new coat from delamination.

Re-Sanding Steps

A full re-sand of steps is for more worn out coating that has imperfection like discoloured, delaminating or simply fibres on timber surface are coming away with coating due to direct sunlight breaking down those fibres which can not be hidden with re-coat or simply wanting them to look like new again.
